Silent Witness is a current exhibition at the Bunjilaka Gallery in the Museum of Victoria of the wonderful scarred tree photos of Jim Berg, Gunditjmara Elder. My part was to travel to scar tree locations near Dimboola with Uncle Jim, record the sounds of some magnificent scarred trees and their surroundings and weave these into a soundscape around Uncle Jim's poems.
I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the Wotjobaluk, Jaadwa, Jadawadjali, Wergaia & Jupagulk peoples and thank them for their permission to record the scarred trees and their environment on their Country. Particular thanks to Uncle Jim Berg, Michael Stewart and Stuart Harradine.
