the market - queen victoria

I join a long silent masked and socially spaced queue to enter the market. My recording gear is well hidden in my backpack. Inside, the presence of food enlivens us all and the vendors still manage a good shout. The babel of languages, the polyglot of accents, and the fragments of intimate conversation seem to be concerned  with buying, food and restrictions. Outside in Therry Street, building construction noise obliterates all market messages.
